THR is reporting that former Illinois Gov. Blagojevich, who just plead not guilty in criminal proceedings, has just inked a deal with NBC to be on the show “I’m a celebrity… get me out of here.”
“Rod Blagojevich will be a participant on the show pending the court’s approval,” NBC said.
While the show has been a big hit in the UK, it never really got much traction last time it aired in the US, NBC is going balls out and plans on airing the show 4 nights a week in the 8 pm slot for almost a full month. If it gets traction then the show can boost NBC’s whole summer line-up. if it tanks, NBC is in big trouble.
One major concern with the court is that the show is being filmed in Costa Rica and they fear blago might make a run for it. Personally, I’m more concerned that NBC considers him to be a real celebrity.
