On a recent humanitarian mission in Sierra Leone and being filmed by “Nightline,” actress Salma Hayek comes across a starving one-year old baby of a woman unable to breast-feed. Hayek, who breast-feeds her own one-year old daughter decides to offer the woman and starving child aid, by breast-feeding the baby herself. Below is a video clip from Nightline:
Hayek’s trip to Sierra Leone was to witness firsthand the the leading cause of death in the developing world: tetanus (maternal and neonatal tetanus). According to Hayek, she did not know what to expect from the trip. “I was just open to this experience and it’s been quite an amazing one,” she said.
