We are big supporters here of Adi Shankar. His Bootleg Universe has been awesome, as has his work on films like The Grey, Dredd, and The Voices.

It was announced a few months back that he was working on an original project, “Gods and Secrets”, which would feature a cast including: Denise Richards, Jane Seymour, Kellan Lutz, RJ Mitte, Jackson Rathbone, Mark Salling, Perez Hilton and many others. Here’s the show’s description from The Wrap:

“Adi Shankar’s Gods and Secrets,” explores the darker ramifications of a world filled with superheroes - for the people they protect and the famous heroes themselves. The dark genre project aims to put a fresh spin on iconic superhero tropes and mythos.

This is right up Shankar’s wheelhouse and I’ve been very excited to see it. However, the show hit a snag this morning, with news of Mark Salling’s (Glee), arrest for child pornography.

Salling had been cast as the villain in the project, which has already already wrapped production.

Now, TMZ is reporting that producers are considering cutting him from the film, recasting, and re-shooting his scenes. They are currently taking a wait and see approach depending on how things pan out with the investigation.

It is important to note that he has not been convicted of the crime. Detectives apparently found over 1000 criminal images on his computer after talking to his his ex-girlfriend. So, he either is a very bad man, or he has a super evil ex. Time will tell.
