AMC Announces Longer Season 3 For ‘The Walking Dead’

The return of The Walking Dead on AMC is so close that you can almost taste the brains in the air. Now AMC has some great news about next season!

It seems like the network is finally realizing that The Walking Dead is the biggest hit that they’ve ever had. Sure, it isn’t winning the awards that Breaking Bad or Mad Men are, but it is bringing in a lot more viewers.

When we jumped from season 1 to season 2, AMC doubled the episode order from 8 to 13. Now it looks like they are upping the ante again by putting in a 16 episode order for season 3.

Now we just have to wonder how tight fisted they are going to be with those episodes. Season 2 made twice the episodes of season one with just over half the money. Hopefully, AMC will open the coffers and let some of that ad revenue back in to the show.

The second half of season 2 of The Walking Dead picks back up on February 12th.
