It isn’t often that Johnny Depp plays someone’s sidekick. Now it looks like that is exactly what he’ll be doing when he takes the role of Tonto and Armie Hammer takes the Role of the Lone Ranger.
Armie Hammer is not to be confused with the baking soda. He got his first real jolt as a star when Warner Bros almost cast him to play Batman in the doomed Justice League movie. After that he made a big splash in The Social Network and now he is working on the big J. Edgar hoover movie with Leonardo DiCaprio.
When he’s done with that, he’ll be donning a mask and a pair of spurs to join Depp as they ride across the range.
The film, which is being headed up by Jerry Bruckheimer is looking like it will be a major tentpole for Disney when it comes out in 2012.
