Stephen Lang, who played the villain in James Cameron’s “Avatar” has been in talks earlier this week to join the Stephen Speilberg produced sci-fi TV series “Terra Nova.” It has since now been confirmed that Lang will star having officially signed on.

Lang will play Frank Taylor, a primary character in the show, opposite Jason O’Mara. Frank is described as a charismatic and ruthless leader of the Terra Nova settlement who recruits former cop and new Terra Nova resident Jim Shannon (O’Mara) to be part of his security team. So in essences he will still play a hardcore bad-ass.

“Terra Nova” will center around the Shannons, an ordinary family from the year 2149 — a year where the planet is dying — who are transported back 85 million years to the Terra Nova, a prehistoric Earth with a colony of humans given a second chance to build civilization.

The report of Lang officially signing on just made this show even better. I can’t wait for this to become one of my new favorite sci-fi series!
