After a long hiatus from the spotlight due to a lot of really heavy stuff that no one should have to go through, Brendan Fraser is working his way back up into some high visibility roles. He was last seen in FX’s take on the Getty Kidnapping (Trust) and the ATT Audience Network series ‘Condor’. No, we’ve never heard of that network either, but that show looks like it had a great cast that included William Hurt, Mira Sorvino, Bob Balaban, and Max Irons.

Anyways, Fraser actually has several projects on his slate right now, but the one that has us most interested is the new announcement that he’ll be joining the cast of the DC Universe Streaming network’s ‘Doom Patrol.’ Even better is that Fraser isn’t just in the cast, he’ll be playing Cliff Steele, aka Robotman, the leader of the team. For his part, he’ll be doing voice-over and mocap for the current incarnation of Robotman, while portraying him directly in pre-robot flashbacks.

Fraser is the second cast member announced for the show after Jovian Wade, who is set to play Cyborg. Doom Patrol is set to hit the air in 2019.
