Christian Bale Talks ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ And His Future With The Franchise

A while back, there was a rumor that Christian Bale was up for a role in the upcoming Star Wars spin-off film, ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’. Today we are getting news from the actor that it was not only true, but we may end up seeing him in a Star Wars film in the future.

Bale appeared on the Happy, Sad, Confused podcast, where he addressed the rumor:
“Yes, [it was] very tempting. I not only love the films going back to my childhood but also have a very long relationship with Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall because they did Empire of the Sun many years back. There was discussion, [and] I hope there will be future discussions.”

That means that the role now being taken by Woody Harrelson is most likely the one he was up for. Also, If we are to see Bale in a Star Wars film, I’d bet that he finds himself in Rian Johnson’s upcoming trilogy instead of becoming part of the traditional Star Wars saga.

Interestingly, Batman came up in the same interview and we got the news that Bale has yet to see Ben Affleck’s take on the character:

“I have not [seen Ben Affleck’s Batman]. Yes I’m interested [in seeing it], my son seemed like he was really interested, but then I realized he just wanted to see the trailer and that was it—I tend to go see films that [my kids] want to see. I have to confess I’m not a huge superhero film fan. People seem surprised at that, I don’t know why. I’ve not seen any of the Avengers films or any of those films at all. I hear they’re very good, but I’m quite happy just hearing they’re very good.”
