After the initial success of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, films based on CS Lewis’ The Chronicles of Narnia have failed to grab much traction at the box office. With that said, it is still one of the biggest and most popular fantasy novel series in history, so someone is going to try and turn it into a multi-media license. As we reported a few months ago, that someone is Netflix.

Now, the streaming network has announced that they’ll be bringing in Coco writer, Matthew Aldrich to sever as the “creative architect” of their Narnia universe.

Pulling from a series of seven novels by C. S. Lewis, the Netflix universe will encompass a series of both films and TV series, all of which Aldrich will be looking after in the same way that Kevin Feige has overseen the MCU.
