TMT is reporting that 39-year-old “Mad Men” star, John Hamm, is currently being heavily considered for the role of Superman in the new Superman reboot being helmed by David S. Goyer and Christopher Nolan.

In February Hamm was quoted by MTV saying, “It’s a tricky road to go down with some of those heroes, because they’re not flawed. Superman is Superman — he’s invincible, so where’s the drama?”

I should point out that Hamm hasn’t actually spoken with anyone at WBs nor has WB come forth to say anything about him. While I love him as TV’s Don Draper, I’m going to be a little agecist and say that anyone turning 40 should automatically be disqualified from any serious or rumored consideration. Superman may be Superman, and while he is invincible, he also doesn’t age and look 40. Sorry Hamm.

Personally, I would love to see Brandon Routh return to reprise the role. But they need to change that awful Singer costume… really, WTF were you thinking Bryan?
