Teaser billboards for CW’s “Vampire Diaries,” which returns Thursday January 27, have been spotting in LA and Time Squares. The tag line? Urging views to “Catch VD.” Yup, you heard them kids, go out and get yourself a venereal disease.

These ads are said to be Phase One in a long list of wannabe “True Blood” campaign to promote the show. When asked for comment, the CW’s spokesperson release a statement saying:

“VD simply stands for Vampire Diaries, and anyone who thinks otherwise should probably get themselves checked out.”
