Daisy Ridley was a virtual unknown before taking on the role of Rey in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and the upcoming franchise films. Now, the young star is officially in talks to take on her second major film franchise.
Among many Star Wars fans, Ridley’s Rey has become a beacon of empowerment. Now, it looks like she might be taking on the task of playing one of the toughest and most self-reliant video game characters ever programmed, Lara Croft.
This isn’t the first time that Lara Croft and the Tomb Raider franchise have been taken to the big screen. Angelina Jolie played the role to mixed results in two films between 2000-2003.
At this point, there’s no director set, and no contracts on the table, but Ridley is excited about the prospect of the project. As long as it doesn’t interfere with her roles in the next two Star Wars films, we’re excited about it too.
