If you didn’t think that the Disney buyout of Fox would have ramifications beyond bringing the X-Men and Fantastic Four home to the MCU, you are living in a fantasy world. Variety is reporting that the first big move is coming today as Disney has announced that they will be shutting down FOX 2000, a smaller imprint within the studio that has made its mark by adapting books into popular films including The Devil Wears Prada and The Fault in Our Stars, as well as recent successes like Love, Simon, Hidden Figures, and The Hate U Give. The studio is also currently in production on The Art of Racing in the Rain starring Kevin Costner and the thriller The Woman in the Window starring Amy Adams and Gary Oldman.

This is just the first growing pain to hit FOX. It is estimated that the studio could see up to 4,000 layoffs as part of the re-structuring and incorporation into Disney.
