Disney may have spent $250 million on Andrew Stanton’s first turn as a live action director, but they only pulled in $500,000 at last night’s midnight showings in the USA. I’m still not sure what to think about the film. The marketing hasn’t made me want to see it nearly as much as a lot of the reviews have. With that in mind, the film was sitting at 51% on Rotten Tomatoes last time I looked. On the upside, the movie posted the biggest opening day in the history of Russian Cinema where day one box office is projected at $6.5 million.

Word from Disney is that they are hoping the film cracks $30 Million for the first weekend. If it can do that, it should be in better shape than their last big gamble “Prince Of Persia: The Sands of Time.”
