Last year “Dollhouse” fans got hosed by FOX. They put it in a death spot and then pulled it one episode before the season finale because no one is home on Friday nights at 8 pm. Then they went even further and pretty much canceled it. However, the show was given a last minute reprieve when execs looked at the numbers from HULU and DVRs. It turned out that the show was pretty damned popular, just not when it was on TV.

Well, we are now a few episodes into season 2 and it is the same story. The ratings blow, but the DVR stats are great. That means that FOX is now committing to actually airing all 13 episodes of this
season.

Here’s the scoop from THR.

“We’re going to run all the episodes,” Fox scheduling chief Preston Beckman said. “We’re not saying we’re happy with those numbers, or accept them, but we don’t have to overreact.”

The DVR ratings were however, over 50% higher than the actual broadcast ratings.

“It’s one of the reasons that we brought ‘Dollhouse’ back; we knew it was DVR-friendly,” Beckman said. “Hopefully we’ll see the overnight ratings increase from week to week. With some shows, you have to look at the bigger picture.”

Great… where the heck was this dude when Firefly got hosed?
