While Warner Bros. is temporarily delaying their live-action adaptation of Katsuhiro Otomo’s seminal “Akira,” French director Fabien Dubois is plugging away reimagining his own version of the cult classic.
Dubois has created a teaser trailer for his own “Akira” film. While from a glance, it looks absolutely nothing like the “Akira” that we all know and love, it is still rather interesting. I’m not sure if there will ever be a full film come 2013, but even if that doesn’t come to fruition Dubois would still be ahead of the curve when compared to WB who’s still collectively twiddling their thumbs with the property.
