Having completing “The Three Stooges,” Peter and Bobby Farrelly are expected to begin developing a sequel to their 1994 surprise hit “Dumb and Dumber.” Both Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels are expected to reprise their role as Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne.

According to Deadline, the project is still in early developments but is moving ahead quickly with Sean Anders and John Morris on board to pen the script. They co-wrote the Anders-directed “Sex Drive” and just co-directed the comedy “I Hate You Dad” starring Adam Sandler.

“Dumb and Dumber” was a phenomenal success that was made on a $16 million budget but ended up grossing nearly $250 million worldwide putting the brothers on the map. Original producers Charles B. Wessler, Brad Krevoy and Steve Stabler will also return as producers, as will the Farrelly’s longtime Conundrum Entertainment partner Bradley Thomas.

This sequel is long overdue, and while I know it probably won’t live up to the expectation I am still very excited to hear that it’ll finally come into fruition.
