A couple of weeks ago, we learned that The Lonely Island’s Akiva Shaffer was working on a live action/ CGI film version of Chip n’ Dale’s Rescue Rangers, but now we are also getting our first look at the upcoming
animated series that Mickey’s favorite chipmunks will be getting on the Disney+ Streaming Network.

The unveiling came at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival, where Disney announced a new and original series based on Chip n Dale would be joining other animated offerings like Marvel’s What If? and the Monsters Inc series, Monsters At Work.

While there isn’t a lot of information beyond that, we did get our first look at the updated character design for the chipmunks. As you can see from the image below, it’s a lot different than what we’ve seen in any classic Disney Shorts or in Rescue Rangers. However, it does seem to match up with the recent animated style that Mickey and his friends have been portrayed in both the recent Mickey Mouse cartoons and in the upcoming Mickey’s Train Ride that is set to fill the space left vacant by the Great Movie Ride in Disney World’s Hollywood Studios.
