The upcoming Netflix adaptation of The Witcher book and game series has not been without its controversy. That includes some initial backlash to the casting of Man of Steel and Justice League star, Hendry Cavill. Today, the streaming network has set out to put some doubts about Cavill’s casting as Geralt to bed with a first look at him in full character.

Based on the best-selling fantasy series, The Witcher is an epic tale of fate and family. Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.

Along with Cavill Geralt of Rivia, The Witcher series stars Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, Freya Allan as Ciri, MyAnna Buring as Tissaia, Millie Brady as Princess Renfri, and Jodhi May Queen Calanthe.
