I don’t know why I’m looking forward to this film so much, but… Dammit, I really am. This musical adaptation of Les Miserables has the potential of being tremendous. We know that Jackman is a great singer/ performer. Russel Crowe has a band, so he can sing (in theory). We also know that Anne Hathaway has a great voice (Just check out her singing in “Hoodwinked”). Now we have our first look at Jackman as Valjean. Sure, he kinda reminds me of a time period version of Bluto from Popeye… but it works.

Official Synopsis:
Set against the backdrop of 19th-century France, Les Misérables tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption–a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. Jackman plays ex-prisoner Jean Valjean, hunted for decades by the ruthless policeman Javert (Crowe) after he breaks parole. When Valjean agrees to care for factory worker Fantine’s (Hathaway) young daughter, Cosette, their lives change forever.
