Variety is reporting that FX has just ordered six episodes of the half-hour animated show, “Archer.” the new spy based cartoon, which is so new it may not even be called Archer, is considered by the network to be the perfect companion for this fall’s returning “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.” That means that if you think Family guy can skew towards adults, you ain’t seen nothing yet.
Characters on the show will be voiced by Jon Benjamin (“Family Guy”), “SNL” alum Chris Parnell, Aisha Tyler, Judy Greer and Jessica Walter.
Benjamin plays Sterling Archer, a suave spy who goes by the code name Duchess. Walter plays his mother, while Tyler is his ex-girlfriend, Agent Lana Kane. Greer plays his secretary; Parnell is the spy agency’s comptroller.
