Yesterday we wrote about Supernatural TV show creator Eric Kripke’s adaptation of “The Sandman” for Warner Bros. TV being dead as a doorknob. Today, Geoff Johns tweeted that it wasn’t true! Kind of…

According to Johns’ Tweet, development of Neil Gaiman’s “Sandman” series is merely stalled and Johns himself is not ready to give up on the property. He plans to work with Gaiman himself to bring the project to fruition.

Correction to world: The Sandman is AWAKE! :) Psyched to be working with @neilhimself on developing one of the greatest series ever!

Added Johns:

Sandman in any form – comics to live action – doesn’t work without @neilhimself #sandman

While this may seem like good news, don’t be fooled into thinking Kripke’s version is still in development. It’s not, that’s dead. But “Sandman” as a viable property is still alive and kicking and WB along with Johns will still continue to try to adapt the critically acclaimed series to either television of film.
