For the third time in as many months, the death of a beloved celebrity has impacted the production of an upcoming film. This time around we are talking about the untimely passing of Harold Ramis. Unlike the Paul Walker and Phillip Seymore Hoffman situations, Ghostbusters 3 is still in the writing phase. That said, Harold Ramis is an integral part of making Ghostbusters happen both in front of and behind the camera.

THR is reporting that his death doesn’t mean the end of the movie. As it stands right now, Ivan Reitman is set to meet with Sony to figure out what they can do to save the project. The current version of the script features the original cast appearing in a cameo to pass the torch to the next generation of Ghostbusters. That means they could make adjustments, possibly even making his death part of the storyline.
