The popularity of podcasts has brought back something that was nearly dead in our culture: The radio play, and Marvel wants to get in on the action. Sure, they are called “Scripted podcasts” now, but they are just tuned up versions of classics like The Lone Ranger, The Shadow, and even Superman. This new entry in the Genre will be called Wolverine: The Long Night.

To make it happen, Marvel has teamed up with Stitcher with a plan to release the scripted program on Stitcher Premium in spring of 2018 before releasing it on a wider platform in fall of the same year. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if that later date is bumped up once people start pirating the show.

Here’s a synopsis of the plot:

“The story begins with two agents, Sally Pierce (Celia Keenan-Bolger) and Tad Marshall (Ato Essandoh), who arrive in the fictional town of Burns, Alaska, to investigate a series of murders. The duo team up with deputy Bobby Reid (Andrew Keenan-Bolger) to investigate their main suspect, Logan (Armitage), but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. “
