Last night, the first chapter in an epic battle between man and machines took place on Jeopardy. Two of Jeopardy’s greatest champions of all time went up against Watson, a super computer from IBM. The winner of the three day battle will get $1 Million Dollars.
From the start, you can tell that this is not going to be an easy battle for the two flesh bags on either side of Watson. Watson comes out strong and by the first commercial break already has over $5,000 compared to a few hundred each for the humans.
Interestingly though, in the second video clip we get to see that the machine is not all knowing. It actually gets some questions wrong and an actual human was in the lead by the end. This isn’t over. Who will win? Man or Machine? Is this Judgment Day?
