Word is that Idris Elba and Johnny Whitworth are both in talks for roles in “Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.” If they sign on, they’ll be joining a returning Nicolas Cage as he hides out in the boonies of Eastern Europe while struggling to repress his curse. In this story, Blaze is recruited by a sect to take on the devil (Ciaran Hinds), who wants to take over the body of a boy.
Elba would be playing an alcoholic warrior monk tasked with finding Ghost Rider. While Whitworth would be playing a criminal who is recruited by the devil to find the boy and is later turned into a demonic creature.
Elba has also recently said that he’s got a multi picture deal with Marvel Studios:
I have a picture deal with them (Marvel). I can’t tell you much about that, but I can tell you I’ll be back…I wouldn’t mind having a crack at bringing Blade back, personally…But erm, there’s a couple of things there that they have… Luke Cage is… very interesting
