We are getting close to that magical time of the year when critics tell us what they thought the best movies of the year were, but we don’t often take the time to figure out what movies are loved most by the people actually paying for the popcorn. IMDB has now pulled together a list of their top movie of the year for the last 25 years, based entirely on user ratings on their site. While I like most of the films on the list, it feels deeply flawed to me, and like it was overrun by internet fans of filmmakers like Christopher Nolan and Tarantino.
