Phase 1 of the new Marvel Film Universe has been put to bed and it is time to look at what is coming up for Phase 2, namely, Guardians of The Galaxy and Avengers 2. It was announced earlier this week that James Gunn would be coming on to rewrite and direct the Guardians film.
The Avengers ended with the first glimpse of the ominous purple villain, Thanos. The big question is, where does he fit in to phase two? It looks like we have the first bit of news in that arena as it is now being reported that Thanos will most certainly be making an appearance in Guardians.
The tip comes via the people over at Cosmic Boook news. They are claiming to have confirmed with Thanos creator Jim Starlin at the Montreal Comic-Con that the character will indeed appear in both Guardians of the Galaxy and The Avengers 2.
I’d love to see an Infinity Gauntlet storyline set up for Avengers 2, but I can’t see it happening without characters like The Silver Surfer and The Fantastic Four who are still part of the FOX movie stable.

The Avengers 2 opens May 1st, 2015.
