There’s a rumor floating around that Jamie Foxx is in talks to play the bad guy in the sequel to Marc Webb’s Amazing Spider-Man and his Halloween Tweet is stoking the fire. He actually put out a Tweet yesterday telling his fans that he was going to be dressing up as the villain for Halloween.

This isn’t the first time that we’ve heard Electro will be the bad guy in the film, but this is the first time that we’ve heard Foxx’s name attached to it.

The first clue that Electrow oudl be the next baddie was the post credits scene at the end of the last Spider-Man film. In it Curt Connors is confronted by an unseen figure in prison who asks him if Peter Parker knows the truth about his parents. The scene was accompanied by the sound of lightning. This could mean that they were teasing Electro… or that maybe they just liked the ominous effect of the sound.

The sequel to the Amazing Spider-Man is set for a May 2nd, 2014 release. You can see Jamie Foxx this holiday season in the new Tarantino film, Django Unchained.
