Jamie Foxx is a good actor, and I’m sure that this will be a good movie, but Sleepless, a remake of the 2011 French Film, Nuit Blanche, just feels like another movie that wants to cash in on the Taken Franchise.
In the film, Foxx plays a cop who is on the outs with his wife and his son has just been captured. He’ll stop at nothing and kill everyone until they give him back his son. Somewhere along the way, Michelle Monaghan steps in as an Internal Affairs investigator. My guess is that she either becomes his love interest in the film or she ends up being the puppet master who has been pulling the strings all along. Either way, it’ll be a good popcorn flick when it hits theaters February 24th, 2017.
Sleepless is based on the 2011 French film Nuit Blanche and is about a police detective that has a connection to the criminal underground and what happens when his son’s life is put in danger as a result. Sleepless comes to AMC Theatres this spring.
