According to reports by Variety, Keeneth Branagh (Frankenstein, The Magic Flute) is currently negotiating a deal to direct Thor for Marvel Studios. Expecting a July 16, 2010 release and written by Mark Protosevich, Thor follows the tale of a partially disabled medical student Dr. Donald Blake who discovers his heretofore unknown alter ego, the hammer-wielding Norse God of Thunder, Thor.
