A few weeks ago, a lot of fans lost their collective S@#* when some paparazzi photos leaked from the set of the upcoming Captain Marvel film. In the photos, Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers is spotted wearing a green costume instead of the traditional blue, red, and gold. As people on the internet like to be angry about stuff, you can imagine the silly levels of rage that the costume change inspired. Here at YBMW, we guessed that this will not be the final costume for Captain Marvel and that what we were seeing was probably her first costume from when she gets her powers from the Kree. Here’s what Kevin Feige had to say about it in a recent press conference:

“If you want to film out in public — and Captain Marvel has a lot of scenes that will be shot on location — it’s gonna happen. Everything is filmed [by paparazzi] nowadays, so years ago, we decided, ‘If it’s gonna happen, let it happen.’ Most people are savvy enough to know they’re looking at a behind-the-scenes photo, completely out of context. So we don’t do things like rush photos.

We released some concept art of her with different colors,” he teased. “People online have correctly identified what’s going on there.”

Sounds like we guessed right. Not only does that mean that we’ll be seeing Carol Danvers in multiple costumes, but we’ll probably also be getting multiple action figures.

Captain Marvel flies on to screens on March 9, 2019, but fans are hoping that we’ll get a quick peek at her during the events of Avengers: Infinity War this May.
