What I’m going to say is not an indictment of Jennifer Lawrence, just of the character Katniss Everdeen. She’s an annoying, whiny, little wimp. While the world events happening around her in the Hunger games books and movies are great, I found her pretty grating as an actual character. Honestly, I’ve not seen the last couple of films because I just didn’t have any interest in Everdeen’s story. I know I’m in the minority and a lot of people love her. That’s cool, this is just my opinion.
Variety is reporting that Lionsgate studio head, Michael Burns revealed today at a conference that the franchise “will live on and on.”
Reports are that they’d like to explore some of the earlier Hunger Games through a series of prequels. This could be fun… once or twice. It would be sad to see them take a great universe like this and grind it into the ground.
