We heard about the new Star Wars rebels cartoon a few month ago, but today, they have finally unveiled the logo, some art, and the first details about the series to fans at Star Wars Celebration in Germany.

Star Wars Rebels Executive Producer Dave Filoni gave the fans a big treat today when he started unveiling details about the new Star Wars animated series, Star Wars Rebels to fans at Celebration.

Filoni put a heavy emphasis on how much the artwork of Ralph McQuarrie was an influence for the new series.

One of the big reveals was the ship of one of the show’s main Characters, The Ghost (see below). The logo was also released. It features an orange and black color scheme that is meant to bring back images of the rebel pilots from the original Star Wars movies.

We also got some new details from the show –
The series takes place between the events of Episodes III and IV, which covers 20 years of time. It is a time when the Empire is gaining strength and hunting down the last of the Jedis. Meanwhile, the rebellion is just starting to take shape.

We also know that Disney was smart. They will be keeping the band together and have retained most of the people who made the Star Wars: The Clone Wars series such a success.

Star Wars Rebels is scheduled to premiere in fall 2014 as a one-hour special telecast on Disney Channel, and will be followed by a series on Disney XD channels around the world.
