Columbia Pictures confirmed recently that both director Marc Webb and actor Andrew Garfield would be returning to the sequel to this summer’s “Amazing Spider-Man” movie.
Emma Stone is currently in talks as well to reprise her role as Peter Parker’s girlfriend, Gwen Stacy.
Production for “Amazing Spider-Man 2” is expect to begin early next year and it will be produced by Avi Arad of Arad Prods. and Matt Tolmach.
The screenplay is being scribed by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Jeff Pinkner, and will be based on a previous draft by James Vanderbilt.
“Amazing Spider-Man 2” is slated to open in theaters in 3D on May 2, 2014.
