NBC is considering dong a spin-off centered around “The Office’s” Dwight Schrute and his life on the family’s beet farm.

The spin-off is in early planning stages but is reported to revolve around the quirky “Office” character and take place on his farm, which also serves as a bed and breakfast. The series will also involve several generations of Schrutes.

The farm has been featured on the hit comedy several times, but NBC would like to do a full episode to test the concept of the comedy in an episode later this season. It’s not clear whether Rainn Wilson, who plays Dwight, would take on double duty or simply move on from the flagship series.

If I were a betting man, I’d say he does double duty. With the departure of Steve Carell last season, “The Office” has already dipped in quality and I highly doubt the show would be able to survive without Wilson.
