In an unprecedented move that could change the way new series are released, Netflix is pushing the whole new season of Arrested Development in one swoop. It was already a huge announcement when Netflix picked up the long cancelled show. Now they are doing something that could be a game changers for the whole industry.

In a recent interview, Arrested Development creator, Mitch Hurwitz said that production will begin this summer and “the streaming video service will release all 10 new segments at once.” The episodes will get their release sometime next year.

This is a huge win for fans who have been praying for a return of the series since FOX yanked it off the air in 2006.

Each of the new episodes will feature on a specific character from the original series. If ratings are strong enough, Netflix is open to the idea of doing another season after that.
