Just a quick note here, the Karate Kid remake that is supposed to be a vehicle for Will Smith’s Kid met with tons of fan backlash over two facts: One, that it was being made at all. And secondly, that the main character was way too young to play the part.
Add to that that Mr. Miyagi is dead and Hollywood’s got Jackie Chan taking his place — the whole project seems like a big steaming pile of napoleon dynamite.
Well, Firstshowing.net just caught word from Jackie Chan himself that they will be changing the name from the Karate Kid to the Kung Fu Kid. At least now it will sound like the cheap knock off that it is, and not just an assault on fans of the original.
