There’s a new featurette for Universal’s Mummy Reboot starring Tom Cruise. As we already know, the new film is set to be the cornerstone of a new Universal Monsters shared film universe. The start of that universe happens in the Mummy with Russell Crowe’s character, Dr. Jekyll. In the film, we will learn more about Jekyll’s organization, Prodigium, a society dedicated to fighting monsters. We know that future films in the universe will include a Bill Condon directed Bride of Frankenstein as well as films for Van Helsing and The Wolfman.

The new featurette, just released by SyFy’s new news service, SyFy wire, which also is owned by NBCUniversal, gives us are first in-depth look at Jekyll and our first peak at his alter ego, Mr. Hyde.

Thought safely entombed in a tomb deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient princess (Sofia Boutella of Kingsman: The Secret Service and Star Trek Beyond) whose destiny was unjustly taken from her is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension.

From the sweeping sands of the Middle East through hidden labyrinths under modern-day London, The Mummy brings a surprising intensity and balance of wonder and thrills in an imaginative new take that ushers in a new world of gods and monsters.
