I still like Bryan Singer. Sure, he nearly killed the Superman film franchise, but he’s done a lot of great work. I’m not sure how excited I am about Jack The Giant Slayer. I’m excited to see Nicholas Hoult getting a chance to shine. I think he’s got some great potential and I love that he’s willing to take weird roles like the upcoming Warm Bodies.

As a re-imagining of a classic b-movie, the film looks pretty good. The CGI is still a bit… ehh, but I tend to not like an overuse of CGI in film. Thankfully, it does have a solid supporting cast consisting of Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Eleanor Tomlinson, Ian McShane, and Bill Nighy.

Jack the Giant Slayer opens on March 1, 2013

Official Synopsis:
Jack the Giant Slayer tells the story of an ancient war that is reignited when a young farmhand unwittingly opens a gateway between our world and a fearsome race of giants. Unleashed on the Earth for the first time in centuries, the giants strive to reclaim the land they once lost, forcing the young man, Jack, into the battle of his life to stop them. Fighting for a kingdom, its people, and the love of a brave princess, he comes face to face with the unstoppable warriors he thought only existed in legend—and gets the chance to become a legend himself.
