I loved John Wick. In a lot of ways, it was a perfect movie. The it was constantly moving, but there was still heart behind the action. It was the story of a grieving man with a dark past that that collided with the mourning of his wife, and subsequently, his puppy. IN the sequel, it looks like we are getting a run of the mill story about a retired assassin that has a contract put out on him.

It was always my hope that any sequel in this franchise would focus on the hotel for assassins and not just be a weak excuse to get Mr Wick back in action. I’m sure it’s going to be fun, but I can’t imagine it holding a candle to the original.

Joining Reeves in the sequel are John Leguizamo, Lance Reddick, Bridget Moynahan, Ian McShane, Laurence Fishburne, Ruby Rose, Common, Peter Stormare, and Riccardo Scamarcio. John Wick hits theaters in February of 2017.

Keanu Reeves returns in the sequel to the 2014 hit as legendary hitman John Wick who is forced to back out of retirement by a former associate plotting to seize control of a shadowy international assassins’ guild. Bound by a blood oath to help him, John travels to Rome where he squares off against some of the world’s deadliest killers. Lionsgate’s “John Wick: Chapter 2” arriving in theaters on February 10, 2017.
