Geoff Johns went into shock and awe mode with the assault of knowledge bombs that he dropped on the crowd at the Geoff Johns spotlight to at the New York Comic Con.

His first big news was on the Justice League movie… or the lack there of…

“I’m going to speak frankly: I think our characters are bigger than Marvel’s.” He said that he’d rather spend time building each character on his or her own rather than “smashing them together.”

When I see a quote like this, it kinds aggravates me. His answer is a nice cover, but there’s a whole lot behind it that he’s aren’t mentioning. The biggest is that DC probably won’t on Superman by the time they make the movie so they’d have a Justice League without it’s core. Also, I doubt Christian Bale is down for a team effort like JL.

Regardless… Let’s watch the box office on The Avengers and then see if he changes his tune.

One fan asked him if he had any plans to write episodes for the new Green Lantern Animated Series:
“Right now, no, because I need to sleep.”

He was really cagey about the possibility of a Flash Movie:
All he said was: “That would be cool.”

Finally, on the new Superman Film:

“I don’t think you can hope for much more than Christopher Nolan and Zack Snyder,” Johns said. “He’ll be punching something.”

On DC Movies in General:
The plan is to pick up the slack left behind by Harry Potter by releasing at least one DC Hero movie a year.
