Last week we saw the first footage from G.I Joe Retaliation and everyone can pretty much agree that this one looks way better than the first movie. Now we’ve got the official synopsis of the new film and it is starting to sound a bit like the animated series G.I Joe Renegades.
You know what? That might not be a bad thing. Other than the seriously dark comic series that just ran about the Joes infiltrating Cobra, Renegades has been some of the best Joe related story telling in years.
A follow-up to the 2009 release of G.I. JOE: RISE OF THE COBRA, which grossed over $300M worldwide, Paramount Pictures, MGM and Skydance Productions, in association with HASBRO and di Bonaventura Pictures, commences production on G.I. JOE: RETALIATION. In this sequel, the G.I. Joes are not only fighting their mortal enemy Cobra; they are forced to contend with threats from within the government that jeopardize their very existence.
