“House” doctor Olivia Wilde has just signed up to co-star with Daniel Craig in the graphic novel adaption of the action-sci-fi western, “Cowboys & Aliens.”

Wilde will play “Ella,” a character who joins up with gunslinger Zeke Jackson (Craig) to try to help protect humanity from an alien invasion. Craig officially signed onboard just last week after Robert Downey Jr. left the project. Olivia Wilde who became a stand out just two years ago on her breakout role on “House,” will have her hands full this year. Aside from “Cowboys,” she will be appearing soon in the long-aways sequel “Tron Legacy” as well as Paul Haggis’ suspense thriller “The Next Three Days.”

Written by Roberto Orci (Star Trek), Alex Kurtzman and Damon Lindelof (Lost), “Cowboys & Aliens” is set to hit theaters in 2011. It will be Jon Favreau’s next film after “Iron Man 2.”
