Last week we showed off a great little stop-motion movie by PES, now we’ve got word through Deadline Hollywood that he has been hired to bring The Garbage Pail Kids back to the big screen. This isn’t just a tiny little studio who is making the movie either. Michael Eisner’s film company, The Tornante Company is putting the financing for the deal together. They also already have a screenwriter attached to the project. It will be written by Michael Vukadinovich, who most recently wrote The Three Misfortunes Of Geppetto and Shawn Levy’s 21 Laps.

The Garbage Pail Kids were a staple of any child of the 80’s. They were the disgusting answer to the saccharine sweetness of the Cabbage Patch Dolls. In fact, they were so off-putting to adults that they were actually banned from schools in the 80’s.
