Michael Bay has decided to shoot a good chunk of Transformers 4 in Detroit, where he shot portions of the Dark Of the Moon. He’ll be getting a lot of hefty tax incentives to film there as well as a city that already looks as if it has been destroyed by giant robots… so it is definitely a win/win.

The Michigan Film Office put out a press release about the deal and also included what looks like the first real synopsis for the film (check it out below). They also announced that filming in Detroit would take place this spring.

As humanity picks up the pieces, following the conclusion of Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Autobots and Decepticons have all but vanished from the face of the planet. However, a group of powerful, ingenious businessman and scientists attempt to learn from past Transformer incursions and push the boundaries of technology beyond what they can control – all while an ancient, powerful Transformer menace sets Earth in his crosshairs. The epic adventure and battle between good and evil, freedom and enslavement ensues.
