Lionsgate is moving forward with their Power Rangers film and they’ve set a date July 22, 2016. the film has some big names behind it already like: X-Men: First Class screenwriters Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz, and Roberto Orci (Star Trek) as executive producer.
all we know right now is that the film is going to exist within the current TV show continiuity. Here’s the official synopsis:
From a story by Executive Producer Roberto Orci (TRANSFORMERS, STAR TREK, AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2) and screenwriters Zack Stentz and Ashley Miller (X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, THOR) comes a modern reinvention of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, a group of ordinary high school kids who find themselves infused with extraterrestrial powers and must harness those powers as a team to save the world.
