It seems like just yesterday, we were reporting on the fact that Patrick Stewart’s Professor Charles Xavier would be appearing in Wolverine 3. Now, it’s looking like the character is set to appear in the upcoming New Mutants film as well.
Here’s what Simon Kinberg, the screenwriter/producer of the film had to say:
“Right now, as the movie exists, Professor X would be a part of a New Mutants movie.”
That would mean that he’s probably going to at least be involved in the recruitment of the team which currently includes: Warlock, Wolfsbane, Canonball, Domino, Sunspot, Magik, and Danni Moonstar.
As to whether we’ll be seeing Cable in this film before he pops up in Deadpool, is yet to be determined. Also, it hasn’t been said which version of the Professor we’ll be getting, but the safe money’s on James McAvoy.
