CBS is continuing to push forward with their CBS All Access experiment with their newest, NSFW comedy, ‘No Activity.’ The show, which is being produced by Funny or Die’s Will Ferrell and Adam McKay will focus on police officers who get stuck doing long stake outs, their support teams, and the criminals they are watching.

One thing the show has going for it is a great cast and a stellar troupe of guest stars including: Patrick Brammall, Tim Meadows, Jason Mantzoukas, Bridget Everett, Jesse Plemons, Amy Sedaris, and J.K. Simmons, Will Ferrell, Mark Berry, Arturo Castro, Mackenzie Davis, Darren Gilshenan, Travis Guba, Jake Johnson, Sunita Mani, Adrian Martinez, Fred Pohl, Alex Rodriguez, Courtenay Taylor, Michaela Watkins, and Daniel Zolghadri.

The new series is set to premier on the streaming network on November 12th, in conjunction with the chapter 1 finale of Star Trek: Discovery. The question remains as to whether enough people are going to star subscribing to CBS All Access to keep the experiment up and running. While the premier of Discovery did help to more than double subscribers to the network, it remains to be seen as to whether they will be able to offer enough programming to warrant the $5.99 base cost or $9.99 commercial free viewing cost per month in addition to cable TV internet fees, and what many people are already paying for things like Netflix, Hulu, Youtube Red, PSL, XBL, and what ever other things they are subscribed to.

From executive producers Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and Funny Or Die, NO ACTIVITY celebrates the mundane in what should be a high stakes sting operation. Set against the world of a major drug cartel bust, the series follows two low-level cops who have spent far too much time in a car together; two criminals who are largely kept in the dark; two dispatch workers who haven’t really clicked; and two Mexican tunnelers who are in way too small a space considering they’ve only just met.’
