I don’t post too many things when celebrities pass away, but news just came across the wire that Carrie Fisher passed away this morning, and I don’t think I would feel right if we didn’t take the time to mention her. As it has been widely reported, Fisher suffered a heart attack on Friday in the last moments of her flight from London to her home in Los Angeles. Some reports say that EMTs worked on her for up to fifteen minutes before they were able to regain a pulse.

Since then, she’s been in the Hospital, with her dog Gary and her daughter Billy Lourde by her side and the collective power of the internet offering her all the power that the Force could provide.

While most people know her as Princess Leia from the Star Wars films, Carrie was also a prolific writer, who was was currently on tour for her her new book, The Princess Diarist. Some of her previous writing credits include: Postcards From The Edge, The Best Awful, and Wishful Drinking, as well as TV writing credits for shows like Roseanne, and The Young Indiana Jones.

Carrie is survived by her daughter, Billie Lourde, her brother, Todd Fisher, and sisters Tricia and Joely Fisher, and her mother, Debbie Reynolds.

Here’s a snippet from an interview she did in just the last couple weeks with Graham Norton:
